these are some wristwarmers made with rowan chunky print. they're a really pretty purple, although you probably can't tell from the picture. ||

i love this yarn - it makes me think of mermaids or something. this is going to make a drop stitch scarf, perhaps knit with that turquoise yarn in the background, once i get around to it.

my first attempt at a crochet flower

welcome to katie knits etc!

Hi everyone! Welcome to Katie Knits Etc! This is my first blog, so bear with me if it takes a while to get going. I've been knitting now for about a year, and I can say with confidence that I am a yarn addict. I have little self-control when it comes to yarn shopping, so I try not to go to my LYS too often, or I would max out my credit card even more often than I do now. I really enjoy making scarves, hats, mittens, and small projects that I won't get burned out on, but I have also done a baby blanket... okay, that's the only big project I've done so far. I started out on this beautiful Rebecca cardigan, but I was using a self-striping mohair and decided after making a sleeve that I hated it - just for this project, though. It's going to make a really fun multidirectional scarf once I can look at it again. =) My new favorite book is Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. Right now I'm working on the Chevron Scarf in some KPPPM for my mom for Christmas and a teddy bear with Blue Sky Alpaca, which I love. I'm also trying to learn to crochet a bit, so I can make some of those cute little flowers I see everywhere. I've made a couple, but I'm not very fast yet. Well, I guess that's about all for now, I'll post some pictures of the few FOs I actually still have, and some WIPs. Thanks for stopping by!
